Northern Italy and Slovenia

Adagio's Northern Italy and Slovenia tours will introduce you to three regions of Italy that are often overlooked, even by seasoned travelers: Liguria, Emilia-Romagna and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. For the truly adventurous soul, we’ll even cross Italy's eastern border into tiny, beautiful Slovenia.

GO

Central Italy

You may have heard that Tuscany is touristy. We want to show you The Other Tuscany, a place to lose yourself in undiscovered beauty. From the sparkling waters of the Silver Coast to the storybook hilltown of Pitigliano, this is the Tuscany where the locals smile readily, where English is rarely heard, where life is still lived slowly...adagio. You'll want to return.

GO

Southern Italy

Adagio's tours explore two regions of Southern Italy: Campania and Sicily. Campania surrounds Mt. Vesuvius and boasts the stunning Amalfi Coast as well as Italy's pizza capital, Naples. The island of Sicily forms the "toe" of Italy and bears unique influences from centuries of diverse conquerors.

GO

France

Visit Provence, not as a tourist, but as an honored guest of our hosts, Dominique and Jim. From their splendid refurbished manor house, explore the land of Van Gogh and Cézanne, with its olive orchards, sunflower and lavender fields punctuated by stately cypress trees. Artists have hailed the quality of the Provençal light for centuries.

Comments on our Custom-Designed Journeys: I have trouble expressing how well this trip went. I've done quite a bit of traveling, and have organized numerous trips myself, and this was the best ever. Thank you for all your insight and hard work. Tom S

Tasting the Lost Corners of Tuscany was a spectacular experience, where you [got] a true sense of the Tuscany of old. The food, accommodations and company were all delightful. I really felt like we were welcome and I made some great new friends. Evelyn P

How Was Your Day in Chianti with Adagio? [I]t was really the highlight of our trip... the day ... was fantastic, even/especially for people in their early to mid twenties. A wine tasting or two, a tour of Greve, a trip to a real cheese farm, and of course the best meal of our lives. I can't imagine that someone of any age would not be interested, especially if they enjoy learning about other cultures and food. [T]his trip is appropriate for someone who is interested about learning the history and lifestyle of Tuscany/the Chianti region and has an open mind, sense of adventure, and really enjoys eating.
